Management Information System for ICT projects for development of local ICT infrastructure.

The International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD) is a non-profit foundation that specialises in information and communication technology (ICT) as a tool for development. The activities of IICD usually take a lot of preparation, before projects can be fully left to local stakeholders. Extensive administration and reporting is necessary for proper maintenance of these activities.

Goldmund, Wyldebeast & Wunderliebe has created a Management Information System (MIS) to keep track of all information regarding projects, meetings, lobby activities, etc. This information serves as a basis for quarterly reports per country, used for example to satisfy the information needs of partners and beneficiaries.

The system keeps track of all changes in information, so as to be able to keep track of progress in activities.

Implementation of this system meant the end of a methodology that was based upon heavy use of spreadsheets and office documents, that were sent between reporting parties and beneficiaries.
